The highest single tab was for a May trip to Rome, Italy, at $93,780.18, followed by London, United Kingdom, at $52,610.23. Other travel included Brussels, Belgium ($49,043.76), Mexico City, Mexico ($33,903.37), Paris, France ($7,658.08), Washington, D.C., in May ($21,158.60) and October ($16,842.67), Busan, South Korea ($24,511.85) and a short visit to New York ($685.33). One trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, had no final figure available.
Canada’s food prices climbed about 6.2 per cent in the past year, the fastest in the Group of Seven, putting pressure on households at the grocery checkout, according to Statistics Canada data.
Meanwhile, food bank use in Canada hit historic levels, with nearly 2.2 million visits in March 2025 alone, reflecting rising food insecurity despite employment or other income.
